There is nothing like the Black Tie Tailgate at the
Philadelphia Auto Show. It is THE best charity gala in the
area. It has it all, including a one-of-a-kind menu created
by the city's finest chefs, top notch entertainment, guests
dressed to the nines and most importantly, proceeds
benefiting Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).
The Black Tie Tailgate grows in popularity each year. In 1986, the Philadelphia Auto Show donated
$50,000 in proceeds to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Thirty years later, in 2016, the Black Tie
Tailgate, with the help of almost 5,000 guests, raised nearly $600,000 for CHOP. The funds supported
the creation of a Leukodystrophy Center of Excellence, a comprehensive clinical and research program
for infants, children and youth with serious brain disorders. The program offers a multidisciplinary
care clinic as well as exciting advances in enzyme and gene therapy.
