Thank you
I want to take a few
moments to point out
some stories of success
that happened because
of your generosity
and support.
Let's start with
students who have been able to attend
Shorecrest because of you.
Gifts that help support financial aid and the
ancillary costs of attending Shorecrest are
life changing. Imagine the power and
independence students have found being
able to expand their research skills because
of the iPads that were provided to them.
Students will attend universities like FSU,
Loyola, Dartmouth, University of Miami,
and UF, many with scholarships because of
you. Students were able to attend science
fairs, history fairs, art competitions and a
huge range of social events because of the
generosity of our donors.
Over the past three years, due to all the
initiatives of the Strategic Plan Vision 2015,
our professional development budget to
advance our teachers has more than doubled.
As our teachers have learned new skills and
pedagogy, our students have benefitted from
enhanced instruction in reading, writing,
technology, math and science. Every day, we
see the tangible impact of your gifts on the
education and experience of our students.
Generosity to the Annual Fund has meant we
can provide enhancements throughout the
curriculum. The opportunities in athletics,
arts and academics are totally enriched
because donors provide us with the resources
to enhance our programs.
You have partnered with us to ensure that
our students can thrive while at Shorecrest,
at their universities and into their careers.
Thank you for making Shorecrest and quality
education a priority.
Cheers!

T
he Shorecrest Board of Trustees is pleased
to report that 2012/2013 was another
successful year for our school. We are proud
to say that we continue our tradition of
impressive academic achievement. Shorecrest
leads Tampa Bay in delivering an exemplary
college preparatory education, and we once
again achieved excellent college placements
for the senior class.
Through sound fiscal management, we maintained competitive
tuition rates while meeting our budget. We secured half of our debt
with a very low fixed interest rate, finalized the five-year financial
plan that aligns with our strategic goals, and met our Annual Fund
goal with a record-breaking total of dollars raised.
Last year we began the process of refining the Shorecrest vision to
determine the infrastructure required for a 21st century education.
In the coming year, we will be working with architects to finalize
our long-term campus master plan, which may include renovation,
construction, or developing new uses for existing facilities. Your
input is important to us, and we will offer opportunities for you to
provide feedback.
You have already heard the exciting news about the rebranding of
the Alpha and Junior Kindergarten program, which evolved from a
board-initiated analysis of other early childhood programs. We are
now poised to promote The Experiential School of Tampa Bay and
the "more than preschool" identity.
Our commitment to enhancing security on campus remains a priority,
and that will continue as we evaluate the recommendations from
an outside security firm and determine the appropriate measures to
implement for our community.
We are also planning a comprehensive review of the School's
marketing programs, with a goal of ensuring that we have allocated
the resources necessary to effectively communicate what sets
Shorecrest apart from our competitors.
We hope our achievements and plans will inspire you to get
involved! One way is to promote The Experiential School of Tampa
Bay or find another volunteer opportunity that meets your interests
and fits your schedule. And please respond generously when asked
to support the Annual Fund.
On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I would like to acknowledge all of
the people who play a critical role in our successes. We couldn't do
what we do without our committed corps of volunteers. Our faculty
members go above and beyond to deliver exceptional instruction and
encouragement to help our students achieve their goals. And our
hard-working staff members in all areas keep the operational wheels
of the school turning smoothly.
We look forward to an exciting year ahead, working together to
preserve and enhance all of the unique and positive aspects of
the Shorecrest experience.
