Membership in the Heritage Society is reserved for those
generous donors who have included gifts to Shorecrest as part
of their estate plan. Simply put, a planned gift is a deferred
charitable gift that is established during a donor's lifetime, but
whose principal benefits ususally do not accrue until some future
date. Unlike cash donations, they are typically made from assets
in an estate rather than disposable income.
The most common planned gift is a bequest in a will or living
trust. Other planned gifts include a charitable gift annuity, a
charitable remainder trust, a charitable lead trust, an endowment
fund, retirement plan assets, life estate trusts, life insurance
policies, or a remainder interest in a home. A planned gift is
not only important because of the funding it provides, but also
because of the commitment a donor demonstrates to Shorecrest's
future. Planned giving helps to ensure that Shorecrest will be just as strong an educational institution in the future as it is today
through gifts that support endowment, programming and future capital requirements.

express our appreciation.
