David Woodhead
Managing Director of Robert
Woodhead Ltd.
David's specialist team
Woodhead Heritage undertook the
Lincoln Castle Revealed Project.
Best Moment - Being invited to a
special dinner within the Prison Building
to celebrate the completion of the
project, and seeing at first hand all the
work which our team had delivered.
Most challenging moment - Finding out
the night before the "great concrete
pour" (watch the video on YouTube!)
that the limecrete supplier had double
booked us with another project! After
a lot of frantic phone calls, the problem
got sorted, and the pour took place as
planned.

the specialist conservation team
responsible for delivering the Lincoln
Castle Revealed Project on site.
Best moments - Working on a project
like this was a childhood dream. While
the Castle is beautiful, and revealed
in every sense, my enduring memory
will always be managing a team whose
enthusiasm, passion and belief never
wavered regardless of what the site
threw at them.
Most challenging moment - If I had
to choose one, it would be when we
realised that the Saxon sarcophagus
was cracked - it had been a long day,
we were cold and wet, but we still
managed to come up with a plan which
revealed some spectacular secrets!

. Richard was Site Manager on the Lincoln Castle
Prison project.
Best moment - Being part of one of the most significant periods in the
history of Lincoln Castle.
Most challenging moment - The storm that hit the Castle on the
morning of the Christmas market 2013 causing a delay to the opening.
Jamie Keegans
Woodhead Heritage.
Jamie was Project Manager and had overall
responsibility for ensuring the successful delivery of the building
elements of the project.
Best moment - Being involved in the project has been an enormous
privilege and there have been so many memorable moments. One of
the fondest memories I will take away from the project is watching
Magna Carta being transported into the vault on the morning of the
opening day and immense amount of pride shared by the team that we
had actually finished it!
Most challenging moment - One of the main challenges was the
planning involved in this type of project and the management of
the unknowns that came to light throughout the works. Despite the
challenges it was great to see the whole project team come together to
successfully deliver the project.

Richard was Site Manager on the Lincoln Castle
Walls project.
Best moments - I've been working on Lincoln Castle since the first
scaffolding pole was laid on the 6th May 2011 with many happy
memories I will look back on. Every day was a joy to work on such a
beautiful project.
One of the best memories was when the spiral stairs and the link bridge
to the East Wall were installed and being the first person to go up the
stairs and walk over the bridge and walk the walls. It was an immense
sense of pride walking the walls all the way round for the first time.
Worst moments - I can honestly say none.
