The Ripple Effect -
Annual Fund Overview
A
nnual giving sustains Prairie School's mission of
excellence by enhancing academics, the arts, athletics
and technology. In addition, the Annual Fund is critical
in supporting the everyday operations of the School
from instructional support to building maintenance and
operations. A gift to the Annual Fund essentially `bridges the
gap' between operating expenses and tuition revenue.
Gifts to the Annual Fund are vital to the lifeblood of
the School, but overall participation levels are equally
important. Strong parent, alumni and sta participation is
one of the few determining factors which can lead to larger
gifts from corporations, foundations and individuals.
Prairie's Annual Fund campaign runs in conjunction with our
scal year, July 1st through June 30th. A dedicated group
W
e are very fortunate to have a supportive community
of parents, alumni parents, grandparents and alumni
who helped our 2011-2012 Annual Fund set a new high in
contributions to the school. Through your generosity, we
raised $422,511! These gifts allow us to keep Prairie School
as the special place that it is, including helping to fund
building maintenance and upgrades that make it a unique
environment for learning. Thank you to all donors who
were a part of this outstanding show of support. We hope
you attended some of our donor celebration events, such
as our Tailgate Party in February 2012, so that we could
thank you in person.
of alumni, parents, grandparents, friends of Prairie and sta
comprise our Annual Fund Team who give of their time to
ensure we meet our annual goals.
Now more than ever, Prairie's Annual Fund plays a critical
role in supporting our students, our sta and our vision. A
gift to the Annual Fund begins one ring in a ripple e ect that
leads to inspiration and academic achievement.
I also want to thank the Annual Fund team of volunteers
who help sign letters, make phone calls and in all ways reach
out to current and potential donors to share the Prairie
Mission. It was an honor to serve as Annual Fund Chair for
the 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 campaigns.
The Prairie School has been an important part of the life
of so many children and families, and it is through the
continued support of our volunteers and donors that we will
remain an excellent source for the growth and education of
children in Southeastern Wisconsin.
Thank you,
Chris Kann
