The Oil Care Campaign is a partnership
between business, trade associations and
the UK environmental regulators.
We work across the oil industry to help
domestic and industrial oil users
understand how to handle, store and
recover oils to reduce environmental
pollution. Almost 3000 oil pollution
incidents are reported to the Environment
Agency every year caused by oil spills,
unsafe storage or handling and poor
disposal of used or waste oils. We're
working to reduce this.
We provide advice and guidance to help
people understand how they can help
protect their oil and make sure it's less
likely to end up in the environment. We
provide tank stickers that tell people what
to do in an oil spill emergency. And work to
encourage people to apply the waste
hierarchy to their waste oil and make waste
oil recovery easier.
You can support the work of the Oil Care
Campaign by sponsoring us for a year. This
will contribute to your company's social
responsibility and improve your standing
with your customers. You will be able to
use the Oil Care Campaign logo on your
website and literature. Please contact Liz
Hobday Oil Care Campaign Manager for
details.

A new campaign to boost the oil heating
industry
OilSave is a proactive campaign to
promote the benefits of oil heating. We
believe oil heating is the best choice for
households without access to mains gas.
OilSave has been developed to provide
advice, information and access to the best
possible service, enabling oil heating
customers to make informed choices about
their future energy needs. Our aim is to
encourage home owners to upgrade their
existing heating systems and make other
energy efficiency improvements, helping
them to save money while remaining oil
heating customers. Getting OilSave
information to homeowners is crucial to the
success of the campaign. FPS fuel
distribution companies and OFTEC
registered technicians have daily contact
with oil heating customers so you're in a
great position to promote the campaign
and pass on information about OilSave.
Why should I use OilSave?
OilSave will help you retain customers and
grow your customer base! A key message
of our campaign is that customers should
use FPS members and OFTEC registered
technicians. Homeowners will be able to
find details of their nearest FPS member
and OFTEC registered technician from the
OilSave website. In return for supporting
the campaign, you will have the right to use
the OilSave logo and our free publicity
material.
What will OilSave provide?
At the heart of the campaign is a website
for oil heating users, full of useful advice
and information. This is backed up by
information in the media and a range of
useful publications, including consumer
information leaflets and OFTEC's popular
Home Guides for you to give out.
