New OACIQ
advertising campaign:
The broker in action!
Beginning on February 18 and for the next four weeks, you will be
able to see and hear the OACIQ's latest television, radio and web
advertising campaign. Our star broker and Think about it theme
of the previous two campaigns are back in a brand-new concept
that remains focused on a broker's expertise and his ability to
bring a real estate transaction to its successful completion:
B
ecause
each
real
estate
transaction
is
unique
.
In order to deliver this message, we will again use several
communications tools on a variety of platforms:
Television
Two new
30-second ads
will air during prime
time on the major French networks. In one, a
man and a woman are wondering whether
they are obliged to disclose a certain feature of
their house to a prospective buyer. In the
other, a couple is hesitating between two
simultaneous promises to purchase. In both,
enter the broker, who reassuringly takes over
and advises the sellers in their best interest.
Radio
Two
new ads about residential and mortgage
brokerage
will be broadcast on English radio.
Web
We will have a sizeable web presence, with
banners and other animated formats
. Information
capsules will also air on the web.
Print
Last but not least,
commercial real estate
brokerage
will also be featured starting on
February 25 with advertising space in
La Presse.
A NOTE OF CAUTION
Profession Broker is a publication for real estate pro-
fessionals, licence holders of the
Organisme d'autorégle-
mentation du courtage immobilier du Québec (OACIQ).
It covers various topics related to the application of the
Real Estate Brokerage Act and its regulations, including
legal and ethical issues related to the practice of real
estate brokerage and the real estate market.
Any advertising appearing in this publication is intended
for real estate brokerage professionals and does not in
any way reflect the opinions, positions or actions of the
Organisme d'autoréglementation du courtage im-
mobilier du Québec, whose primary mission under the
law is the protection of the public.
Do you know the origin of
your licence?
Until 1994, the issuance of real
estate agent and broker licences
was the responsibility of the
Québec government's Service du
courtage immobilier.
When the new Real Estate Broker-
age Act officially came into force
on January 15, 1994, the ACAIQ
the ancestor of the OACIQ
became responsible for overseeing
real estate brokerage in Québec,
and therefore for issuing licences.

Microsite completely revamped
We have completely revamped the
thinkbroker.ca
website,
which remains divided into three sections, i.e. residential,
commercial and mortgage brokerage. The home page of the
renewed portal-type microsite will present:
The two TV ads, each with their new 60-second
information capsule, which takes a more in-depth
look at each situation as well as the capsules of the
previous advertising campaign;
The four distinct benefits of dealing with a broker,
i.e.:
· His skill and expertise,
· His ability to guide the client through every
step of the transaction,
· The protection provided to both the seller and
the buyer,
· The network of brokers, and therefore of
potential clients, to which he has access,
A toolbox with a list of useful links.
