The OACIQ has recently concluded a rec-
ognition agreement of great interest to your
professional practice with the nBIeA. This
agreement is added to the one concluded
with the Quebec Association of Building
Inspectors (QABI) in July 2011.
With this agreement, you are assured that the building
inspectors and experts who are members of the
NBIEA
meet the following regulatory requirements:
They have a professional liability insurance
(errors and omissions);
They use a recognized inspection service
agreement;
They carry out inspections in accordance
with recognized building inspection practice
standards (In French only, English version
will be available soon);
They submit a written report to the party
that hired them.
Agreement concluded with

the National Building Inspectors
and Experts Association
(NBIEA)
The agreement allows you to access a list of building inspectors
accredited by the NBIEA. It also allows you to find an inspector
by checking the directory of members on the NBIEA's website
(
www.anieb.com/index.php/en/
).
An added value
These reference tools will help make your work easier and save
you time and money because it was your duty to ensure that
inspectors to whom you refer your clients meet the requirements
listed above, before this agreement and that with QABI are
concluded.
Furthermore, you may still refer a client to an inspector whose
name is not on the NBIEA's list or on that of the
QABI
. In this
case, you must ensure that the inspector meets these
requirements.
