Last year was an exciting one for us, the premier country, with a great increase in membership, a wonderful symposium in Chicago, our first ever Certified Communicators in Public Health, hosting the National Conference on Health Communication Marketing and Media (NCHCMM), experiencing huge growth in our Twitter followers, and engaging our new Thought Leaders on many fronts. well. There were the horrific Boston Marathon bombings, sequestration and the federal government shutdown, many severe weather events, and the emergence of avian influenza H7N9. time for public health in this country. I use the word dynamic, rather than other more negative terms, because as my commissioner often says, with every great challenge comes opportunity. out how we as an association and as public health employees can improve who we are and what we do. Jennings, our outgoing president, for his leadership, his calm and caring demeanor, and the help and guidance he has given me over the past year. We wish him well in his new job.
