Bowie FFA members attended the State banquet and meetings during this weeklong event. Students from all across the State were recognized for their achievements related to their agricultural science classes, FFA activities, and supervised agriculture experiences. Over 10,500 members and quest filled the streets of downtown Dallas to attend this event held at the Dallas Convention Center. Senior Bowie FFA member Lori Lane was awarded the State FFA Lone Star Degree. Local Bowie FFA members in attendance included Stephanie Clement, LB Clement, Allison Clement, Jesse Davis, Austin Davis, Richie DeMoss, Ashley Gill, Robert Green, Lori Lane, Nathan Logan, Karsen Morgan, and Tori Stockard. Also in attendance was Edurardo Cordero the newly hired agriculture science teacher and Bowie FFA advisor. He comes to Bowie with 3 years of Texas Agilife Extension Service and 5 years of classroom teaching experience. Attendees also had the opportunity to visit the George Bush Presidential Library, go ice skating, and hear motivational speakers that climbed Mt. Everest. The weeklong event culminated with the student elections of the 2013-2014 State FFA officers. Everyone who went on the trip had a good time. Fischer’s Meat Market 304 N.
