It wasn’t a matter of which captain wanted me on their team, it was more like which captain was going to get stuck with me! I just wasn’t good at sports during my younger years. My best hope to win was getting on a team with a star player or two. I longed for a team to choose me. Perhaps you dealt with the same as a child. But now as adults, we are involved with something much more important than a childhood game. We are living real life, and the stakes are high! But I have good news for you today, and it’s simply this: you can live life on God’s side! Jesus said, “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, …” (John 15:16a) That word “chosen” means to select or choose out of something. It doesn’t matter whether you are talented or gifted, or if you aren’t, Jesus has still loved you enough to pick you to be on His side! If you belong to Jesus and are on His side, I Peter 2:9 lets you know that you are “a chosen generation.” And when you are on His side, you’re living life on the winning side! If you feel like you’re losing in life, accept the call to be on His side! Pastor Little, Victory Church Sarah Jasper Pitman...
