Hearthstone School Summer Camps Summer Day Camp This exciting, Waldorfinspired program includes a wide range of activities to awaken creativity and enliven the child’s understanding of nature. Activities include storytelling, watercolor painting, beeswax sculpture, candle making, rhythmic movement and dance, water play, cooperative games, felting, basketry, beadwork, paper making, drumming, instrument making, baking, art from nature and nature walks. Each Friday, campers give a presentation of the week’s fun-filled activities. Camp runs from July 29 – August 2 and August 5 – August 9, from 9 A.M. to 3 P.M., for children ages 3 to 12. Mountain Adventures Camps These camps with instructor Aron Weisgerber focus on exciting and educational outdoor activities for a variety of ages and skill levels. Camp for ages 4-8 will be held from June 17th-21st and 24th-28th. Activities include swimming, hiking, climbing wall, wildlife and plant identification, games, crafts and building children’s comfort levels with the outdoors. Camp for ages 8-12 will be held from July 8-12. Activities will include those listed above, plus group problem-solving, survival skills, and low ropescourse elements. If possible, we will go rock climbing in George Washington National Forest. Backpacking Camp for ages 13-17 will be held from July 15-19th, including group problem solving, initiatives, low ropes-course activities, trip planning, back-country living skills, backpacking technique and group dynamics. Camp The 6th Annual Horsin’ Around camp is fun for boys and girls ages 6-14.
