The Stephen Decatur Middle School Chapter of Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) has started to prepare for Red Ribbon Week later this month. This year’s theme is A Healthy Me is Drug Free. Cedar Chapel Special School students Amy Hemphill and Kamau Ndirangu from Mrs. Brooks’ class are pictured on the playground. Cedar Chapel is located in Snow Hill and serves students with special needs, from ages 3 to 21, in Worcester County.
Worcester County Public School students from Pocomoke, Snow Hill and Stephen Decatur High Schools joined forces for peer leadership training at Delaware’s Camp Arrowhead last month. The purpose of the two-day retreat was to provide members of Students Against Destructive Decisions with multiple strategies to strengthen their leadership skills in modeling good decision-making. Ocean City Elementary students showed their spirit by donating new and used sports gear to help children in need. In conjunction with the Ocean City Recreation Department and NAYS, the students generously participate in the Global Gear Drive every year.
