The flea market at the Shepherd’s Nook Thrift Shop at Community Church at Ocean Pines is under construction and is temporarily closed until the work is completed. The Ocean City/Berlin Optimist Youth Foundation announced the winners of its 4th Annual Scholarship Golf Outing. The team of Lou Taylor, Dan Parker, Ron Richards and Nick Price won the tournament. Second place was captured by Joe Jankowski, Ron Frew, Tom Herrick and Robert Ricks. Charles Smith, golf chairman, announced over $10,500 was raised to add to the foundation’s scholarship endowment fund. Above, Nick Price, center, was the longest drive winner. Barbara Mikulski as well the president of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization at the Hospice Action Network Intensive in Washington, D.C., on July 29. The Germantown School Community Heritage Center is hosting a banquet honoring alumni and sole surviving teacher Josephine Anderson on Saturday, Sept. 14, at 6:30 p.m. at the Berlin Intermediate School. Tickets are $25 and may be purchased by calling 410-641-0638. Reservations are available until Sept. 7.
