c.ex woolgoolga Supports
cando cancer trust
the annual CanDo Cancer trust Charity bowls Day
held at C.ex Woolgoolga attracted approximately 200
supporters and bowlers. organizers from the Coffs Coast
Freemasons association were delighted by the escalation
of attendees on a day that raised an impressive $6000 for
the local charity. this amount is generously being matched
dollar for dollar by masonicare which will see a whopping
$12,000 go directly to cancer sufferers by way of helping
local patients attending the North Coast Cancer institute.
Visiting bowlers were in great support as members of
numerous clubs took to the Greens for a social game.
many local organizations and business houses displayed
their kindness with donations of raffle prizes and food
for participants to eat on the day, not to mention the
entertainment being providing on the bowling Greens!!
over 200 people have been helped in the local area so
far this year by the CanDo trust, with everything from
transport costs to assistance with household bills. if you
would like any further information or think you may be
able to offer support, please contact Joanna Lamb
on 6659 6200.

a different view
For many years C.ex Coffs has facilitated a group of
photography enthusiasts which has steadily grown to
become the C.ex Coffs Camera Club. and whilst i'm
the first to admit photography has never been my own
personal "cup of tea", after spending some discussion time
with a couple of ardent members i may have to give the
"Kodak brownie" a dusting off and head to their next
meet. award winning member Donna baldwin stated
that photography had developed enormously over time
and the club has been a great forum for many likeminded
locals to share their photographic knowledge and
experiences. the club hosts many in house competitions
and also invites various interesting speakers to their
monthly meetings. members must be adhering to this
advice as the club is producing some first class amateur
photographer's in annette brauer, helen rushton, Donna
baldwin, Jan Davidson, Kathy smith, Grace Lovering and
Kerrie Fernance. another bonus of photography is you
get to attend all the best local events such as the Coffs
Coast Cycle Challenge where member sharron sykes'
pics captured the atmosphere of the race and were soon
after published in the Coffs advocate. Donna baldwin's
photo, titled south african Weaver, has been selected as an
entry to the prestigious Four Nations competition which
is annually contested by submissions from australia, south
africa, New Zealand and Canada. Whilst results are not
yet available, we all hope Donna can bring the spoils back
to the Coffs Coast.
the C.ex Camera Club meets every 2nd monday of the
month at C.ex Coffs - 7.00 pm, and welcomes all who may
be interested to come along.
