local artists from the bellingen and Nambucca shires who
come together every tuesday to create paintings, ceramics,
mosaics and sculpture. People with disabilities gain great
satisfaction from these creative activities, producing
artworks for the exhibition and auction and having a lot
of fun together whilst working towards a final opportunity
to display and sell their works. all works are presented
professionally and framed using recycled materials.
tanya mcQuinn. the participants continue developing
their own individual style of artistic expression, becoming
more accomplished and gaining confidence, life skills, and
participating in a community activity. this year the LWb
group and Phoenix bowraville have been working with
visiting artist in residence russell Way on a collaborative
work is funded by a regional arts Fund through arts NsW.
years now and their support with a venue enables the
artists to present their work to the public and generate
their own income, with a percentage of sales going to the
artists and the remainder going to continue funding the
program. art buyers and the public are welcome to come
and view the work and enjoy the excitement of bidding,
with a chance of acquiring original art whilst supporting a
very worthwhile community arts program. there is also a
gallery section with works for sale.
