odds are that if you go to your local shops and do a
pram count, the Mountain Buggy Swift will come out on
top. Everywhere you go mums are pushing their Swifts,
and this is because they are so easy to use, as well as
incredibly durable. You can make the mistake of buying
your first pram just because it's `pretty' but many an
experienced mum will tell you they quickly traded in for
a Mountain Buggy. At only 9.5kg, the Swift is one of the
lighter prams on the market for people who want the
full pram experience, rather than opting for a stroller
design. They work well on- and off-road and are great
jogging prams for those who like to run.
They fold and unfold very easily, and the newest model
now features an automatic frame lock, which they
didn't have before. The one downside is that the brakes
can be a bit tricky, they can be hard to release as you
have to flip them up with your foot (which isn't easy in
thongs) and they can jam sometimes. However, for a
practical pram you can use everywhere it's hard to go
past the Swift.

Hugely popular in the UK, the iCandy has made quite
the splash here is Australia. With it's colourful facade
and its eye-catching design it's easy to see why it's
becoming a `must have' for new mums. Great for city
living, the sleek and compact iCandy is a pleasure
to use. With an easy fold design and a face-to-face
seating option, as well as a bassinet, the iCandy meets
all the needs of the fashionable new mum.
It fits easily in the car and is very light and easy to lift.
Be aware though that it does require you to remove
the seat from the chassis to fold it up- so it's not a one
handed job. It's not really designed for an off road life
style, it's a city living stroller- great for apartment living
and an urban lifestyle as it folds in half and provides a
shoulder strap for easy carrying up and down stairs.
