The NW Bandits Baseball Club will work to teach kids how to deal directly with the coaches. Players need
to take responsibility for their actions. We have a specifi c philosophy and understand it may not be yours.
Please make sure you understand our coaching philosophy and agree with it prior to signing this form.
Respect the Game
· Abusive language or showing disrespect for coaches, umpires, opponents or each other will
not be tolerated
· Like players, we expect parents to always be courteous towards coaches, umpires, oppo-
nents and each other.
· Parents should always be respectful towards umpires. Coaches will handle disputed deci-
sions or calls made by the umpires. Refrain from yelling at umpires during or after the game
- it distracts from the game.
· Parents are not allowed in or around the dugout during the game!
Playing Time/Coaching Issues
· Parents should allow their son to address the coach with his concerns rather than doing it
for them.
· Payment of players fees, donations, sponsorship or individual work does not guarantee play-
ing time.
· Parents are not allowed to meet with a coach about playing time. You must meet with Bandit
Management fi rst. Confronting a coach immediately after a game will not be tolerated.
Every Coach has a different teaching style. The focus of our philosophy is teaching players as well as par-
ents how to communicate what they want. Coaches may not always make the same decision or decisions
that, in hindsight, you would have made, but they are the coaches.
Parents and Coaches are responsible for players. However, do not expect coaches to chaperone your
player off the fi eld. It is also your responsibility to make sure they eat, drink enough water, get sunscreen,
etc. Transportation is the parents/players responsibility unless prior arrangements are made.
Respect for the game starts with our conduct towards coaches, umpires, our opponents and each other.
