As the youngest of America's leading independent schools, The Prairie School has made tremendous
strides in a mere fifty years. There have been many factors that have contributed to our growth from a
semi-circle building and handful of educators to now, 260,000 square feet and more than 100 faculty
and administrators. The most important of these factors has been our community's commitment to
volunteerism and philanthropy. Without these two components, The Prairie School would not exist, and
our children and community would diminish. On behalf of the school, I want to thank all those who have
contributed time and resources to support the mission of The Prairie School.
This 2013-2014 Report of Giving is a recognition of all those who have philanthropically supported our
mission with time, talent and resources during the past fiscal year. Volunteerism and philanthropy
founded our school, and the support of the donors listed here has enhanced and strengthened our school
community. Your support allows our committed faculty and staff to maintain a student-centered learning
environment that is keenly focused on helping every one of our students be his or her best self.
In my short time at Prairie, I have been truly impressed by our faculty and students' energy and
enthusiasm as well as their shared commitment to growth and improvement. It is a privilege to be a part
of this community. I look forward to building our partnership to enhance our sense of camaraderie, and to
advance The Prairie School to new levels of excellence.
Sincerely,
Nathaniel W. Coffman, Ed. D.
