It always gives me great pleasure to reflect upon the past year. We accomplished much as a school
community, but our finest work was made possible because of your generosity. It is through your
gifts that we have the tools necessary to expand our programs, create a safe and nurturing learning
environment, and attract the very best teachers.
This past fiscal year was one of notable giving. The Annual Fund is the customary fundraising
pathway for all independent schools, and Prairie is no exception. Guided by great leaders and
volunteers, the Annual Fund expanded participation and continued to grow its outreach while
exceeding our financial goal. Additionally, our traditional events, the Golf Classic and Premiere,
raised needed dollars in support of student financial assistance. My sincere thank you to all the
extraordinary sponsors, donors and volunteers.
The 2013 - 2014 school year was very special as we said goodbye to many retiring faculty and staff
who have been with us for much of the journey. Their tenure totaled over 200 years of service, 21 of
which belong to our long-serving President and Head of School, Mark Murphy. We wish him well on
his future endeavors and thank him for his leadership and guidance.
As we forge into our 50th year, it is a wonderful time to reflect on our history, and celebrate our
alumni, past and present parents, our students and of course our faculty and staff. We look forward
to great things as our new Head of School, Nathaniel Coffman, leads our community into a new era.
Thank you for your generosity in every way. Your support is truly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Imogene Johnson
Chairman of the Board
