Submitting online applications via cvMail What is cvMail? cvMail is a law student portal which provides information about law firms, the legal industry and enables law students to apply and schedule interviews online all in the one place. A significant number of major firms now exclusively accept applications online via http://www. cvMail.com.au. Why should I send my application online through cvMail? You can apply to many of the top firms via cvMail, in one convenient place. You have access to the latest information about the firms and application details. The cvMail system emulates the current paper process. Also, firms prefer you to apply online because it saves them many hours in manual data entry and internal processes; this gives them more time to focus on the important aspects of your application. Best of all, you can save time and money as there’s no need for any printing or postage. Do I have to register to use cvMail? Yes: Registration is required in order to use the cvMail online application system. However, registration is a quick and easy process; only your name and email details are required to initially access the system. Registration normally only takes 1-2 minutes. 4. How do I use cvMail for the first time? 1. Go to http://www.cvmail.com.au and register as a first-time user. Create your personal profile by clicking on the ‘Personal Profile’ button on the left hand side of the screen and filling in your personal details. Complete your academic profile by clicking on the ‘Academic Profile’ button, also on the left hand side. You will need to enter information about your educational background (university degree(s) and their starting and finishing dates) and also your academic results according to the online instructions. You can now apply to the firms via the Application Manager. To do so, click on the ‘Apply Here’ button next to the firm you wish to apply for. For each firm, choose the State, Territory or country you wish to apply to, and select the type of application you wish to submit (vacation or graduate) from the tabs.
