Showjumping continues its strong start to 2013 with Pegasus Horse Sports registering more than 170 rounds at its March training day – following up on the very strong numbers at Swan River Showjumping Club’s Training Day just a week before. By running the Training Day in conjunction with the local pony club, Pegasus was able to accommodate PCAWA members who wanted an opportunity to train on the encouraging, owing course designed by coach, trainer and international competitor, David Dobson. Held in the C-Quest outdoor jumping arena at the State Equestrian Centre, the Pegasus Training
Day included rounds from 45cm to 1.20m, with tracks containing obstacles appropriate for each group level. Riders could choose to jump their rounds independently or, for an extra fee, take advantage of coaching help from David – who supervised the course inside the arena and gave instructive comments to riders once they completed their rounds. Despite dry weather conditions the previous week, the well-watered arena held up well throughout the day, its large surface providing plenty of area to shift jumps between classes as the course was altered to accommodate different Continued..... levels of height and experience.
