Carol Quinto and Darlene Musitano are co-chairing the Ocean Pines Pine'eer Craft Club Holiday Craft Fair. The fair will be held on Nov. 2 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Ocean Pines Community Center. The show will feature a variety of crafts and gifts, a bake sale and a luncheon provided by the Kiwanis. There is free admission and free parking.
The University of Maryland Eastern Shore announced last month a Baltimore businessman has pledged to donate $500,000 that will be used to recruit students to its PGA golf management program. Carnelious Jones’ gift will support four full-ride scholarships he hopes will encourage minorities and women to pursue careers across the golf industry. Atlantic/Smith, Cropper & Deeley employees made a difference in October by participating in the Lee National Denim Day fundraiser for breast cancer. The employees wore their "jeans" and received a pink ribbon pin for a donation of $5. With a match of funds by the agency, a total contribution of $564 was raised.
NARFE Chapter 2274 had as its October meeting guest speaker Anne Healy, CareFirst representative for BlueCross/Blue Shield. Healy gave members the latest information on how the Affordable Care Act affects persons enrolled in Obamacare including premium increases for each of the CareFirst plans. The Salisbury Jaycees recently donated Halloween bags to Peninsula Regional Medical Center for distribution to children receiving emergency care in October.
