The Ocean City Lions Club recently presented Maureen McNeil of Coastal Hospice with a check for $3,000 in support of the charity’s ongoing work in the community. Founded in 1980, Coastal Hospice is a private, non-profit program that provides traditional hospice services, palliative care, bereavement support and education to residents of the Lower Shore of Maryland. The Gibbs family, owners of the Dough Roller Restaurants in Ocean City, has donated $2,500 to the Ocean City Lions’ Wounded Warriors Fund and the 8th Annual “Wounded Warriors” Golf Tournament, which is happening Oct. 16 at the Ocean City Golf Club. Habitat for Humanity of Worcester County Inc. recently participated in summer STEP-UP STEM internship program, funded by the Worcester County Office of Economic Development.
