NARFE Chapter 2274 had as its August meeting guest speaker Anne Healy, CareFirst representative for BlueCross/Blue Shield. Healy gave members an update on medical coverage including what's known at this time about how the Affordable Care Act will affect government retirees. Four of those teams were part of the newest addition to the tournament called The Rolling Surf division. Eleven months ago, tournament director Bob Musitano was approached by Mark Flounlacker with a request for the 2013 tournament to add a wheelchair division. Players from San Diego, Denver, Richmond and the Baltimore area descended on Ocean City for two days of games and fellowship. Wheelchair Lacrosse USA received generous contributions from local business owners to continue its work to promote the adaptive sport and bring the athletes back to Ocean City for the 2014 tournament. OC Life-Saving Museum volunteers Amanda Cropper, left, and Nancy Howard trim the flower boxes at the south end of the Boardwalk. The Museum Society plants and maintains the boxes throughout the summer. The museum is open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. through the end of September.
