Annual Bathtub Races Return To BerlinTonight
BERLIN – For 20 plus years, local businesses have been turning ordinary bathtubs into rolling works of art and during Berlin’s 2nd Friday Art Stroll on July 12 the Berlin Chamber of Commerce will once again host this popular event. The Berlin Bathtub Races have generated friendly, competitive energy for local businesses and excited anticipation for all those who come out to watch. The race is open to anyone who wants to compete. Businesses, old and new, are strongly encouraged to participate. It is an excellent way to advertise while having fun at the same time. The Atlantic Hotel was the first winner of the Bathtub Races in 1991. Barrett Chevrolet and Irie Radio will continue their rivalry. Ayers Creek and Baked Desserts have teamed up the past two years and this partnership has earned first place both years. PNC Bank and Burley Oak, always crowd favorites, will be giving it their all to take the title from Ayers Creek/Baked Desserts. The Church Mouse, Berlin Coffee House and Pittsville Motors are among the other businesses that will be sponsoring heats to bring the energy during this event to a whole new level. Starting at 5 p.m., bathtubs will be lined up and on display at the new Chamber of Commerce Wel-
