Who is SCCA?
Seattle Cancer Care Alliance is a cancer treatment center
that unites doctors from Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research
Center, UW Medicine and Seattle Children's. The goal of
SCCA: turn cancer patients into cancer survivors. Their
purpose is to lead the
world in the prevention
and treatment of cancer.
Membership in the SCCA
Network provides the
c o m m u n i t y - b a s e d
physicians at the
Tri-Cities Cancer Center
and CBHO with the
ability to offer patients
treatment on the latest
cancer clinical research
trials. If you are a patient
being treated for cancer
at an SCCA Network
Member institution, you
can be confident knowing
that your oncologists have
a wealth of resources at
their fingertips, including:
access to the latest
treatment options and
clinical research studies;
ability to easily consult
with an SCCA physician
about your diagnosis and treatment plan; and the latest
education and information about advancements in the
treatment of cancer.
"Seattle Cancer Care Alliance's affiliation with community-
based oncology programs recognizes the value in
developing partnerships with local physicians to ultimately
benefit patient care," said Benjamin Greer, M.D., the SCCA
Network's medical director who leads the gynecological
oncology program at the SCCA. "Part of the SCCA's
mission is to enhance the
standard of cancer care
regionally and beyond,
and we are working to do
this efficiently through the
SCCA Network of affiliates
like the Tri-Cities Cancer
Center and CBHO."
Tri-Cities Cancer Center
campus partner, Columbia
Basin Hematology &
Oncology, became a
SCCA Network Member
in January of 2012. Their
affiliation with SCCA
and their presence on our
campus allows us to offer
combination radiation
and chemotherapy clinical
trials not before seen in our
region.
The Tri-Cities Cancer
Center and CBHO are
keeping patients close to
home where they are surrounded by family, friends and
can enjoy the comforts of their home while they receive
world-class treatment for cancer.
