Sue has four beautiful children. "The happiest time in
my life was when my children were growing up, going
to their dances and soccer games, seeing them happy
and cheering them on." Sue is proud to share that her
son and daughter are North West clog champions. She
is even more proud of the fact that she is expecting her
5th grandchild on November 30th.
When asked who has had the biggest impact in her
life, we realized what a romantic Sue is. She answered
saying, "My Husband, he is very quiet until you get to
know him then he'll just tease you till you laugh. He has
been the best caregiver and supporter anyone could ever
have." Sue also mentioned, "My older sister was a great
influence. We got our Master's in Special Education
together and she motivated me to get it done."
Having lived through so much, Sue wants people to
hear her story and leave you knowing that you should
never lose hope. Sue was told many times that she only
had six months to live and she proved them wrong. She
credits living past the six month mark to faith, hope,
perseverance and support. "The Palliative Care Nurse
Navigator at the Tri-Cities Cancer Center has been
there throughout to provide resources and support.
Imago (palliative care support group) has been a great
outlet to share feelings." She continues to live with hope.
Sue has cheated death and wants people to understand
that even though your physician may give you a certain
amount of time to live, it isn't an absolute. "Keep
on living while you can and never forget to show
compassion for others."
The Tri-Cities Cancer Center Foundation
is so grateful to the incredible community
support that allows us to bring important
programs and services to those affected
by cancer in our region. At the heart of
that support is a group of business and
community leaders whose dedication
to the Foundation is unmatched, our
Foundation Board of Directors.
Thank you to these incredible supporters
whose time and talents are making a
difference. We also would like to recognize
the businesses and organizations who
support their employees in serving on our
