Here are some highlights: • Presidential Visitations: Marcy Schwartzman and Larry Vinegar, First Spouse, recently finished a whirlwind tour to visit several European and Israeli chapters. Among many things, they joined AOs at the European Convention in Zurich, the Annenberg Lecture in London, and the Hebrew University Hadassah School of Dental Medicine’s 60th Anniversary. While in Israel, Marcy also participated in the Alliance of Oral Health Across Borders meeting and the Fifth Middle East Symposium in Dental Medicine. • David Schneider, International Treasurer, reviewed the 2012-13 & 2013-14 budgets. David and Heidi Weber, Executive Director, presented recommendations for cutting operational costs as well as increasing revenue through sponsorship and membership. • Heidi Weber reported that the 2013-14 dues renewal season is occurring now and many members already received invoices. Self-billing chapters will be collecting dues from chapter members. • Alan Moltz, Convention Representative, informed the board about 2014 Convention in Tel Aviv, Israel. Jonathan Mann (Jerusalem) and Eldad Helft (Tel Aviv) will serve as the co-marshals. The 2014 convention committee is finalizing the details. • Michael Stern, International Editor, discussed the agreement that AO is signing with Lionheart Publishing, based in Marietta, GA. Lionheart will publish the Alpha Omegan from 2014-2016 and also will provide advertising support. Please contact Heidi Weber at headquarters for more information.
