Career technical education soars to new
heights--at 6,250 feet above sea level--in
the community of South Lake Tahoe with
the completion of the Tahoe Arts & Design
Academy (TADA), at South Tahoe High
School (STHS). Modeled on a Hollywood
studio, this facility brings innovative
methods of learning to simulate immersion
in the media and design arts industry while
still in high school.
Each year, students travel to Hollywood
to visit successful STHS alumni who are
now working in Los Angeles as writers,
directors, photographers or producers.
The state-of-the-art facilities have been
designed to enable students to develop,
record, and produce their own television
programs, theater productions, and/or film
projects in both studio and live audience
settings. The program integrates core
foundation studies with specialized training
to motivate students to reach their highest
potential.
TADA is the third of five projects at
STHS that are transforming this campus
and bringing great value to this remote
mountain community. Receiving $30 million
in CTE and other state grants, this campus
is a brilliant example of a well-organized
Master Plan successfully implemented
through design and construction with the
continuity of our LPA team.
