30 Onstream The mobile app for insurance professionals By Alex Considine Underlining Xchanging’s continued commitment to facilitating and enabling modernisation in the London insurance market and our on-going goal of enhancing customer experience through the delivery of innovative electronic services, on 12th February we launched X-presso – our new mobile app for insurance professionals. X-presso’s first release includes ‘Claims Viewer.’ It is accessed via users’ usual ECF2 login, utilises our bespoke PDF viewer and the latest page-turning technology to combine all the benefits and familiarity of paper with immediate electronic access to the IMR. Whether at home, with clients or out in the market, X-presso’s ‘Claims Viewer’ grants claims professionals access to claims documents on their mobile device, helping to speed up decision-making and response times to improve customer service. In keeping with the shared history between insurance, innovation and coffee, the X-presso launch theme allowed Xchanging to ‘take insurance back to the coffeehouse.’ On the launch day we hosted two X-presso coffeehouses – one in the Lloyd’s café and one on the Willis concourse – where we served our guests coffee and gave hundreds of demonstrations of the technology. The highlight of the day was a lunchtime presentation in the Lloyd’s Underwriting Room. Lloyd’s CEO, Richard Ward, and Xchanging CIO, Jim Sadler, announced the launch of X-presso in conjunction with the Lloyd’s launch of wireless enabled printing for brokers. X-presso is available now as a free download via the Apple App Store. ‘Claims Viewer’ is the first of many planned releases for 2013 that will widen the scope of X-presso to cater for all user communities within the London market, including carriers, brokers, claims adjusters, managing agents and other third parties. We aren’t limiting X-presso geographically either, X-presso was launched in Singapore in February and will be launched in the US later in 2013.
