We have all seen online video
coverage on YouTube or some of
the specialist websites, and FEI TV has
brought some of the major events around
the world into our homes in real time on our
computer screens.

Taking this more than one step further, intrepid
photographers Darren Dawes and Red McQueen
have combined their artistic and technology skills
to create a TV style production from the final
three day event held at the stunning Brookleigh
Equestrian Centre in WA.
The event was a memorial to the well known
owner and equestrian supporter, (the late) Olga
Reveler, and the last horse trials event to be held
on the property, as the area of land that contains
the cross country course is being sold.
The filming of the event utilised six hand held
videos strategically placed around the cross
country course, and included segments videod
from precarious heights, where photographers
were perched on top of an extended cherry
picker 12m up. Darren and his helpers managed
to capture every 3* horse in their dressage,
showjumping and cross country phases.
Using a studio, expert commentators and
professional sports presenter, Adam McGrath,
and hours of editing, the `TV show' was compiled
in three parts, complete with commercial
advertisements, interspersed to break up the
action. Hoofbeats is very proud to be one of the
RedFoto.TV inaugral advertisers.
Interviews with competitors, cross country and
showjump course builders, as well as owners
and sponsors add to the interesting content of
this pilot TV style show.
Darren and Red plan to develop the entertainment
avenue available with this new technology,
using a few local shows to hone their skills, find
out what the audience is most attracted to and,
Signalling the Future of
the Equestrian Industry

(WAYER) 3DE held at Brookleigh Equestrian Centre.
Technology has advanced so much in the past few
years that its advantages can now be used readily
within the equestrian industry, both to assist riders improve
their performances and to bring the sport to a wider range of
equestrian enthusiasts - right in their own homes.
