The history of fashion, re-vamping and re-styling garments
led me into styling some very imaginative shoots and working
with a range of amazing people. I'm always looking for new
concepts and finding different ways to express my creative
imagination and bring a story to life using various styling
techniques.
Why do people
need a stylist?
Stylists specialise
in and are used in
various fields; editorial
fashion,
national campaigns/
TV adverts, catwalks
personal, food, and
homeware styling.
Each stylist has his or
her own niche. I feel
that working with a
stylist is important to
bring creative ideas to
the table, working as
part of a team to create
a terrific end result for
whatever the brief might be. Stylists are communicators, key
team players that can change an individual's perception of a
garment that might not look great on the hanger, but is
enhanced when styled for a photograph or on the catwalk.
It is the imagination of the stylist and the spin they put on
putting outfits together which hold great merit in making a
garment look good and wearable.
What will be the trends to look out for in
2014?
GEOMETRIC
PRINTS
Expect an explosion
of bold geometric prints incorporating bright pop colours,
reflecting inspiration from the 60s and style icon Eddie
Sedgwick. This trend will be fun, fresh and fearless.
