This was the concept of Dr John Davies OBE FRCP FESC, who opened Newport Cardiac Centre in 2010. Located
near Tredegar House, just two minutes from Junction 28 of the M4, the Centre has the specialist equipment and
highly-trained technicians to carry out heart assessments and identify signs of heart disease.
Dr Davies, who has 30 years' experience as a heart consultant and is also a well known lecturer on cardiac issues,
sees the Centre as a way of giving patients in South Wales an excellent service which is quick and easily
accessible. A consultation plus any necessary tests can be carried out very promptly and often in a single visit.
The Centre deals with GP referrals as well as self-referrals from
individuals. Cardiac tests include Echocardiograms, Exercise
Stress Tests, Heart monitors, Blood Pressure monitors, ECGs,
Lung function Tests and Blood Tests. Cardiac Health Assessments
are also available which gives great piece of mind, and all results
