year to raise funds in support of cancer patients and their families, while
supporting critical education and prevention efforts to build a healthier

as a medic in both the Naval and Army Reserves. As
a Naval Reservist, Ken was deployed to Saudi Arabia
where he served in Operation Desert Storm. He retired
as a Hospitalman 1st Class E6. I asked Ken what his plans
for retirement from the Cancer Center were. "Darlene
and I plan to enjoy our patio, do some gardening and
watch the birds." Ken also has two sons and a handful of
grandchildren which are sure to keep him busy.
Looking back over the history of the Tri-Cities Cancer
Center Ken stated, "I have enjoyed my time here. The
changes in the building and our program have been
amazing. When medical oncology was brought to the
building it provided a real benefit to the patient. Our
Seattle Cancer Care Alliance Network Membership
allows our doctors to work seamlessly with UW Medicine,
Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and Seattle
Children's to provide the greatest care for patients. Our
Breast Cancer and Lung Screening programs provide
the highest quality care for patients." With Ken, it always
comes back to the patient.
"Ken Clark has touched thousands of lives. He is someone whom I have
great respect for. He is an example for all of us. Ken not only mentored all of
our current RTs, he mentored me many years ago as well. He will always be
a colleague. Ken will be missed."
