The health festival began with a health awareness walk, after which the walkers all met up in the center of the park where all the different health organization's booths were set up. AO has participated in this Health Festival in the past and this year was in charge of the dental screenings for the day. 145th Street from 1pm - 5pm. We had five 2nd year volunteers run- ning the AO table and charting and three 3rd/4th year volunteers per- forming the dental screenings, with Dr. Gail Schupak as the attend- ing. A total of 51 patients were screened and referred to the Columbia Clinic for future treatment. Each screened patient, as well as other community members that were present at the event, received a goodie bag with a toothbrush, toothpaste and floss (all donated by Colgate). The event was extremely successful and we look forward to participating in it again in the future! Student Clinicians of the ADA (SCADA) Program. The program is sponsored by DENTSPLY International. Each year, one student from each dental school in the United States, as well as several in- ternational schools, is selected to present their research at the ADA Annual Session. This past October, the ADA Annual Session took place in New Orleans, Louisiana. In this program, Students compete against one another in one of two categories, Basic Science or Clinical Research.
