Gary Scharoff has been selected to receive the ninth district dental Association’s 2013 d. Austin Sniffen Medal of Honor Award. The annual award is the most prestigious honor given by the ninth district, a component of the new York State and American dental Associations covering Westchester, rockland, Putnam, dutchess and Orange Counties. GARy SCHAROff fred Margolis has been appointed to the Illinois State Board of Health by Governor Patrick Quinn, The State Board of Health advises the director of the Illinois Board of Health in meeting the functions of needs assessment, statewide health objectives, policy development, and assurance of access to necessary services. The board is composed of 17 people, all appointed by the governor. fRED MARGOLIS David Dano joined the Department of General Dentistry as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of dental Medicine (GSdM) in August 2012. david oversees the clinical activities of third- and fourth-year students in the pre-doctoral patient treatment centers, is involved in direct patient care at the Boston University Dental Health Center, and serves as Alpha Omega Faculty advisor for our students. DAvID DAnO David is a member of the AO Boston Alumni chapter and has received degrees from Boston University, the University of Connecticut, and the Hebrew University Hadassah School of Dental Medicine. Haim Tawil, an AO Beta member and d’14, was recently featured in the Penn dental Journal. He is pursuing a dual degree program in Bioengineering, which is a serious pursuit for a student keeping busy with dental studies.
