The Visiting Artist Residency Program is one of the key ways that MOG contributes to the development of artists and the glass art community. Residencies create an environment that not only allows for but encourages artistic exploration and expansion of the capabilities of glass as a medium. In the Hot Shop creativity ignites. A Visiting Artist Residency at MOG includes exclusive access to our world-renowned team of three glassblowers for five days, two days of cold working, all equipment and supplies, and hotel accommodations. Without financial constraints the artist is free to experiment and a Residency often results in a new body of work. You can be instrumental in this development and potentially be the first to own a piece from an emerging series. Over 11 years, the Museum has hosted over 300 artists from 17 countries. On the live stream we reach 93 countries and over 55,000 viewers every year. Watch the artists working on the live stream at www.museumofglass.org/glassmaking/live-from-the-hot-shop “It is really important as an artist to have an environment to be able to come and work where you can experiment and push new things…with a residency like the Museum of Glass offers you can come in and just focus on your ideas. You can focus on making your art and there are no other places where that is possible.” – John Kiley
