A tile mural at the base of the fountain has images reflecting the agricultural his- tory of the area. Existing mature trees, 29 of them, were preserved on the site. Two additional large exist- ing oaks were relocated into the park area to make way for the building footprint. A colorful rose garden, with decomposed granite pathways, invites strolling and provides color and opportunity for community involvement, as well as a beautiful background to park activities. and a water play splash-pad. This was located near the existing playground, and has proven to be very popular, since opening day. Additionally, fun, artistic, reptile and animal forms were integrated into the fence to delight children of all ages. with a large stage, complete with lighting and audio capabilities, facing the tree-studded park to the southwest. A smaller, more intimate stage faces south, while the Brentwood Tower provides a backdrop for the City's festivities. |
