He has directed over 100 productions in university and professional theatres in the United States as well as Sydney, Australia, Goteborg, Sweden, Birmingham, England and the U.S. Virgin Islands. He has held positions at The University of Washington, The State University of New York at Purchase, The University of Detroit, The North Carolina School of the Arts, where he served as Dean, The University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, where he was the head of the acting Program, and the University of Hartford where he is the Director of the Theatre Division of the Hartt School. Last season he was Benjamin Franklin in 1776 and Elwood in Harvey. He and his wife, Jan are spending their 41st season at the Monomoy Theatre. from the University of Utah. Favorite past productions include: Joe Pitt in Angels in America, Clive/Cathy in Cloud 9, and Leon Czolgosz in Assassins. BFA at the Hartt School.
