A FEW WORDS
ABOUT
SKIN CONDITIONS
Skin conditions can be uncomfortable both physically and emotionally.
Products that contain active herbal ingredients can be highly effective
at treating skin conditions with amazing results. If you are not sure if
you have a skin condition, please consult your esthetician.
ACNE
Both adolescents and adults can have oily to normal skin that
persistently breaks out and is sometimes inflamed, usually clogged
and reactive. Acne can be caused by a number of factors including: the
overproduction of sebum (sebum is an oil naturally produced by skin),
dirt and pollution on skin's surface, clogged pores, stress and diet.
Acne can be treated by following a healthy diet, including raw
fruits and vegetables, controlling stress, regular exercise to remove
toxins from the body, and by following a consistent professional and
homecare routine.
ROSACEA
Sometimes confused with acne, rosacea often shows on the skin as an
inflammation and reddening on the nose, forehead, cheekbone or
chin areas. Inflamed capillaries on the skin's surface give the
complexion a red, blotchy or bumpy appearance. Rosacea is usually a
genetic condition, but certain factors are known to aggravate it.
Avoiding hot liquids, alcohol, spicy foods and extreme temperatures
will help calm and clear irritation.
HYPERPIGMENTATION
Defined by the appearance of dark spots, freckles, scarring or an
uneven skin tone, hyperpigmentation can affect any skin type and
has a large spectrum of severity. Identified by an increase in melanin
production in the skin, it is a universal skin condition. Environmental
factors, stress, aging and post-inflammatory pigmentation are all
factors in skin tone changes and coloration. Protect from future
damage with SPF and seek products and treatments specifically
designed to fade dark spots and hyperpigmentation.
