DEAR MEMBERS.
I'm extremely delighted to provide my first report to members of
Campbelltown RSL.
Where do I start.....
Perhaps I begin with dispelling some rumours about Cabra-Vale Digger`s
intentions regarding the future of Campbelltown RSL.
In previous editions of both the magazine and Annual Report our President
Stan Martin refers to my appointment and how I relish a challenge. My
previous club was in similar circumstances and I can proudly boast that it
is still one of the most successful clubs on the Central Coast. My aim is to
reverse the fortunes of CRSL and for it to be re-established as a proud but
profitable community based club.
I haven't wasted much time in implementing necessary structural changes,
but these steps were necessary and pivotal for the club's future financial
performance.
Along with cost reductions I am pleased to say that for the months of
November and December Campbelltown RSL is trading cash positive. This is
the first time in over four and a half years.
BUT we are still a long way from Campbelltown RSL being self-sustainable
and not having to rely on its parent club. This is, as it should be, our optimum
goal. The challenge now is to improve revenue across the critical income
streams. To do so we need to win back the confidence of members who
are not active patrons and at the same time convert our many visitors into
becoming a member especially for the reasons below.
The future for Campbelltown RSL is optimistic especially with the proposed
makeover plans expected to commence in early March.
The cost of these renovations will be in excess of $1.8M which confirms quite
clearly our commitment to Campbelltown RSL

Once our renovations begin I respectfully seek your patience and
understanding for any inconvenience caused. As I plan to be on site during
the renovations as much as possible I invite members to say hello as I'm quite
eager to receive feedback on the club's progress from our valued members.
