I had a knack for putting a
look together in my 30's when I worked
out what suited me. I feel most together
in tailored, classic styles. I adore a shirt, it
gives a finished look to everything from
jeans to a suit and I own myriad coloured
shirts. Now in my late 40s, I am loving
patterns. Age gives a woman confidence
to experiment.
my wardrobe
staples
are the
obvious tried and tested ones, tailored
trousers and a blazer or hacking jacket.
Navy or grey is a welcome change from
black. A patterned wrap dress in a heavy
jersey is a particular favourite, add a
plain jacket and it takes you anywhere.
Shirts and cardigans are so useful, roll
the sleeves back and add a piece of fun
jewellery to keep it fresh. A simple fine
knit is perfect over jeans.
london born fashion writer
and mother of three Jenny Barlow,
developed her inimitable sense of style
a few years before the latest looks were
being documented online. This former
advertising executive was inspired by her
very fashionable mum, who adored
reading Vogue and Harper's Bazaar. We
are delighted to have Jenny join the
dare
team.
