in its sixth year, International
Fashion Week on the Sunshine Coast, is
showcasing edgy fashion from up and
coming designers in eclectic genres. It's
aim is to enhance equity in international
business relationships via a range of
platforms including runway shows:
indigenous, swimwear, ready to wear
and ethical design, the opportunity to
sell direct to retailers and public and an
educational and mentoring forum for
creative industries.
ifw event founder Jacinta
richmond said a further aim of the
event is to promote fashion alongside
environmental and ethical design by
partnering with businesses of vision and
incorporating more creative genres by
highlighting trends and innovations from
other creative industries.
"the vision of ifw is to not only
support local talent, but increase
awareness as to the wide reaching impact
of fashion within the community, and
the substantial influence it can have on
tourism and economic growth to the
region," she said.
"with established long term
partnerships, sustained growth and
an innovative vision for the future,
International Fashion Week is set to be a
globally recognised force on the
fashion circuit."
designers being showcased
at the event include Anastasia Potter,
rachel Sheehy, Afrozzi Clothing, Annake
Swimwear, Sunflair, Hive Swimwear,
PMSurf, Wild Horses, Natalie Donovan,
Bold and rebellious, Jonte'Pike and
Julia rose.
