Top Wedding Blogs
style me pretty
"I don't say this often enough but it makes
my heart so happy to have brides and
grooms share their special day with us," says
wedding blogger, Abby Larson, founder of
Style Me Pretty, a blog launched in 2007,
which has topped the list of wedding blogs
on WeddingBlog100 for the past five years.
Style Me Pretty is one of the most well
read wedding blogs on the web receiving
1.5 million visitors every month and 16.5
million monthly page views.
"It truly hits me how lucky we are to
share in people's stories every single day,"
says Abby, a 33 year old mother of two,
who lives in Boston with husband and
business partner, Tait. Abby started out in
the wedding business launching a line of
wedding invitations under the name
Abby Jean.
She describes Style Me Pretty as "a chic
blog for the style obsessed bride".
"As a blogger I am forever in search of
inspiration," she says.
"There are no boundaries for inspiration
just as there are no boundaries for Style
Me Pretty. Our readers look
far beyond your cookie
cutter wedding ideas and
strive to design an affair
that is both personal and
incredibly charming."
magnolia rouge
Created by ruby & Willow stationery
designer, Kate Holland, in 2009 as a place
to share her design work, Magnolia rouge
evolved into a massively
successful wedding blog
featuring the best of New
zealand weddings. It's
one of the best wedding
blogs in the world and
this year launched its
spin off, the elegantly
styled, online wedding magazine
{MAG}rouge.
"I didn't want the blog to be all about my
stationery hence naming it something
different to ruby & Willow," says Kate.
"Since the early days I've been thrilled to
see the readership of the blog continue to
grow in leaps and bounds, and be named
three years running in BrideTides Top 100
Wedding Blogs."
rock'n roll bride
Kat Williams founded
rock'n roll bride in 2007
while she was planning
her own wedding
and now tops the
`influential blogger' lists
throughout
the UK.
rock'n roll Bride has quickly
grown to become one of the biggest
in the world. After becoming jaded by
the limited offerings of the UK wedding
industry, Kat saw a niche for alternative
wedding inspiration and ran with it. Kat
works on the site full-time alongside her
husband Gareth. She is also editor-in chief
of the blog's spin-off, rock'n roll Bride
print magazine.
"Being `rock n roll' is not about being
`cool', being a rebel or even thinking of the
most unique idea you can," she says.
"It's about planning a wedding that
reflects you and your partner and
declaring your love in your way. To be
featured on this site, you don't have to
be cool, you don't have to be `wacky' or
`offbeat' or intentionally `quirky', you just
have to be you."
polka dot bride
This Australian based online directory of
wedding services is an inspiration source
for Australian couples about to
get married.
Polka Dot Bride was founded in 2007 by
a young Sydney woman who carefully
maintains her anonymity. She edits the
magazine under the pseudonym, Ms Polka
and in 2010 was named one of Anthill's 30
under 30 entrepreneurs.
"My love of all things bridal began many
years ago. In my younger days I was
an avid collector of all kinds of bridal
information," she says.
"I'm all for doing things traditionally, but
admit there's a slight touch of anti-bride in
my system. I believe in
making your wedding
unique to you and a
heck of a lot of fun.
I love a wedding
where the couple
shines."
